Mikumi National Park is located 300 km west of Dar es Salaam (a 4-hour drive). The park derives its name (i.e Mikumi) from the Kiswahili word for the Borassus palm which once grew there in profusion.

Because of its accessibility, it is one of the most popular parks in Tanzania and is an important center for education where students go to study ecology and conservation.

Mikumi National Park is also served by an airstrip near the park headquarters allowing access by air.

Day 1: After breakfast transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park. Lunch at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge / Mikumi Tented camp / campsite.

Afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Wildlife lodge/ Mikumi Tented camp / campsite.

Day 2: After breakfast, morning game drive in the park. Lunch at the lodge or tented camp / campsite.
